Zoom Search Engine FAQ - Dreamweaver ExtensionQ. When I try to install the Dreamweaver Extension, the Extensions Manager reports an error message: "...requires a more recent version..." or says that the version is not compatibleDue to Macromedia's requirement for extensions approval on their Dreamweaver Exchange, we were forced to restrict to MX or later only in our latest releases. There seems to be no technical reasons to do this besides Macromedia's own limiting of support for DW 4.0. Q. I get the error "Zoom could not run due to installation issues as a Dreamweaver Extension"This is most likely caused by a Dreamweaver and Extensions Manager issue with installing the files in an incorrect folder. This can happen when you try to install and use the extension whilst logged in as "Administrator" on a non-english version of Windows. One solution to this would be to log in as a different user - even one with Administrator privledges but NOT named "Administrator" would make a difference (it is actually recommended for security purposes to not use your computer logged in as "Administrator" except for system maintenance purposes). Re-install the extension under this new user and you should find the problem gone. Another solution, if you absolutely must use your computer logged in as "Administrator", is to manually copy all the files to the correct folder AFTER installing the extension. Follow this procedure:
You should now be able to use the Extension under your "Administrator" user account. Return to the Zoom Search Engine Support page |
