About Zoom PHP Search Engine

Zoom allows you to add a PHP-based search engine to your website, that is ideal for any Apache or IIS web server with PHP (5.0 or higher) support.

Zoom is an easy to use, self-contained solution, that provides efficient and powerful searching features with:

• No external web service required
• No complicated database setup and installation procedure
• No third-party database requirements such as MySQL, Postgres, etc.
• No migration issues (simply copy the files to another machine and it will work)
• No script editing required (although you are free to, if desired)
• No advertising or banners
• Support for up to 65,000 page using PHP. (Up to 1 Million pages with the CGI option)

You can select the PHP option by simply selecting the radio button in Zoom before indexing. The one Zoom package supports all five script platform options.

If your web server does not support PHP, or you are considering an offline solution (such as searching on a CD-ROM), take a look at the ASP, JavaScript, or CGI options.

System Requirements for PHP Zoom

To index your website, you will require a computer that is

• Either a Windows PC or Mac (or a Linux server)
• With at least 128 MB of memory (more memory is required to index larger sites)
• And at least 50 megabytes of available disk space

To host and offer online searching using PHP, you will need:

• A web server with PHP (5.4 or higher) installed.
  
• Server-side write permissions for logging of search results (optional)
